I will not mince words on this important topic. Truthfully I never mince words. The EU (European Union) is a failure. It’s an economical, social and political flop. The European Union has developed into a corrupt institution. It serves no nation’s interests expect Germany’s and whichever external nations Germany chose to align with.

Like many things the European Union was a good idea in theory. Communism was a good idea in theory too. However, attempts at implementing communism have never worked. The same principle applies here. The attempts at implementing a European Union ideology have not worked.

There are a few positive aspects of the European Union in practice but overall the negatives outweigh the positives.

Six European nations signed the Treaty of Rome in 1958. This was strictly an economic union known as the EEC. Additional countries joined over time and in 1993 it was officially changed to the European Union. There are currently 28 member states. What began as a solely economic objective has  morphed into a political, social and economic dysfunctional hybrid. You could say that it was hijacked by certain powers and molded in order to suit an agenda.

There are some practical European Union benefits. Internal tax free trade is a positive. No additional taxes help to keep prices of goods and services down.  Hence, I can see the appeal in no internal trade borders.

I can also see the benefits of the free movement of European citizens. This allows for an increase in education and job opportunities.

Many of the points that claim to be unifying members of the European Union are doing the exact opposite.

 One Single Currency

The EU currency is seen to be positive due to the ease it creates for purchases, travel, and business transactions. That’s true. It does make these things easier However, a single currency market does not work in practice because each nation has a different economy regardless of one market. The EU currency has brought extreme financial hardship to the Mediterranean nations. It allows for no economic diversity.

No Internal Conflict

There are strict guidelines in place in order to promote peace. However the German domination over other EU nations is a conflict in itself. The social, political and economical issues that have been created by the EU has created tension and hostility between nations. Primarily all nations against Germany.

No Loss of Culture

The EU has no official language (unlike the former Soviet Union) and apparently doesn’t interfere with cultural aspects of countries. Right? Wrong! Open borders and mass immigration has impinged upon and eroded social and cultural aspects of nations. National identity is being eroded and sacrificed for globalization agenda.

Other Blatant Disadvantages:

 Lack of Autonomy and Sovereignty

The removal of a nation state’s right to self determination is abhorrent. The European Union has controlling power over nation states. They can remove political leaders from office with little trouble. The Union can and does make economical, political and social decisions for nations with little regard to what they want or what might be right for them. This is unacceptable. Every nation should have sovereignty and autonomy.

Angela Merkel’s mass immigration and refugee intake into the European Union has been problematic. Dictating open borders has meant that nations have had no say as to who comes into their countries. Mass immigration and multiculturalism has been forced upon them when they had no need or want for it. This creates a hot bed of social and cultural issues.

Merkel claims that her decisions were made on humanitarian and economical reasons. I don’t buy that. She has been quoted as saying that multiculturalism has utterly failed yet Germany keeps persisting. Why?  There is a bigger plan in place. What could it be? Could it involve Turkey, The United States and the Gulf Nations?

Difficulties in Exodus

It is very difficult to leave once a nations has joined. There are two ways to enslave a nation: The sword and debt. The European Union has encouraged nations to take on loans from the Central Bank that they can never pay back. Over loaning has ensured nation enslavement. The goal is to keep them in debt and within the union.

Self Serving Structure

The rules, policies, and decisions set by the European Union are not in place to protect the interests of each nation. They are there to serve the EU as a whole. Germany is in control of the European Union, which means Germany’s interests come first. This had led to the neglect and mismanagement of poorer nations like Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland.

There is no real unity or collective prosperity. That is the veil that coats this continent.  The UK had less reason to exit than France, Greece or Italy would have. I can understand and support a nation’s desire and need to exit this stranglehold.
