2016 Is Almost Over. It is Time For Me To Say Thank You!

2017 is just around the corner, which means that this will be my final blog post 2016. I will be taking a much needed break over the next few weeks but not before I write a much needed update to you all.

I finally launched the Old Simo project in July 2016 and I wasn’t entirely sure how people would react to me or my concept. Regardless, I felt that it was necessary.  There are many debate sites around, but very few with a personal touch that truly values interaction for members. I am very proud that Old Simo has achieved this.

There is so much going on in our world and it’s important that we share our thoughts and opinions on those events.  From the very serious global issues to the more lightweight  trivial stories. All topics have their place and they all provide some kind of insight into ourselves and the world that we live in.

Old Simo aims to explore issues in a multi dimensional fashion. I don’t want a one sided discussion. I certainly dont expect or want people to agree with me as a way of avoiding conflict of opinion. My website does not aim to go with the wave of what is politically correct. We all should value our right to freedom of speech and thought. Censorship only applies on Old Simo when one is inciting violence, harassing or being vile and abusive.

Your opinions will always be considered and listened to by me. However, be prepared for challenge and critical thought where your opinions are concerned. I don’t shy away from that!

The feedback on the website and the articles has been very positive. I enjoy writing about topics and expressing my candid thoughts on them. The topics are often controversial and my opinions on the topics are sometimes controversial. I understand that this makes me quite divisive but that’s perfectly acceptable and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You can never capture 100% of the market and why would you want to ? That’s so boring!

The Old Simo project would not be possible without YOU. I am speaking to all my followers, readers and commentators. Your support and contributions mean the world to me and are the backbone of my venture. I can’t thank you all enough. Your input on our debates and discussions continues to enlighten and inspire me. Thought provocation is a fetish of mine and my thoughts are constantly being provoked by our varied discussions.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a successful New Year. If you don’t celebrate Christmas  I wish you happy holidays and a safe and prosperous New Year. I will be back sometime in January 2017 to continue our exploration of global issues.
